Default Someone backed up onto my hood!!!

I pulled into an access road behind a Toyota pickup, who proceeded to stop, throw it into reverse, and back up on top of my lowered integra. His rear bumper came within 3 inches of my windshield.
I'm going to at least need a new hood and front left fender, and possibly a new front. Will his insurance company just cut me a check, or will they normally want to go through a body shop?
If they just give me the money, I was thinking CF hood. What are some good brands/prices? I've heard good things about Fiber Images, but are any other companies any good?

P.S. I have pics, but I couldn't get access to my website. If someone would host them for me, e-mail me or post up. Thanks!

They don't always do that. You can have them cut you a check, you just have to fight them to make them do it. They try not to. If you OWN your car (arent making payments) then they are required to give you the cost of the damages anyway, since it's your car. They only argue about making a bodyshop take the check if you dont OWN the car outright becuase your BANK wants to ensure that you fix your (their) car.

Finally got the pics uploaded to the website.
Check out how close he got to the windshield.
Unfortunately, I think the JDM front end is like $2-3k, so it's probably a little more than would be covered. Also, the front fascia only has superficial scrapes, no dents or anything. So they might not replace that.
I do own my own car, so I'll have to see what I can do. It'd be great if they just write me check, and then I could get a CF hood and just pocket the difference.

You arnet understanding me.

By law they are required to bring everything back to OEM condition, which is not a repaired bumper, no matter how superficial it is.
You are, entitled, BY LAW to a brand new replacement.

You just have to be a dick and stand up for it.
I did, and it worked.

"No, its damaged, I wont settle for a repair, I want everything replaced 100% with brand new OEM products"

They cant deny it to you, if it was damaged, if it was even farted on and one piece of paint moved 3 inches to the left, you are entitled to an entire new fender or bumper.

Score!! I have some sandblast damage from the previous owner that I wanted to get repainted anyway. Now I can be all "Bich, you fixin' the whole damn car!!"

I just found out that the insurance guy who was supposed to come by and do the estimate left for vacation TODAY for a MONTH. I'll have to call 'em back on Monday, and hopefully they can get someone else out here pretty quick.

Just don'tbe a push over like they're used to.
Demand that you get another adjuster or just tell them you're getting your own quote, faxing them a copy of it and having the bodyshop bill them.

Just be sure to be very clear that any damage on your car, you are asking for a 100% complete replacement.
If you replace it or not (and can get them to cut YOU a check rather than your insurance or bodyshop, that's ideal) and repair it isntead is entirely up to you.

They are by law supposed to pay for a like-it-was-before fix. Which, well, probably doesnt include being repaired =]

I agree with dantastic, time for tha JDM front end. It'll look sweet with you're color. I had a similar accident but i drove underneath a Pathfinder...It's tow hook shredded through my bumper, headlight, fender, and hood. It was bout 1500 in damage and not a scratch on tha pathfinder! Good luck!

Unfortunately, I have like $0 extra money to throw at this. And a good JDM front is pretty damn expensive. In fact I think I actually have negative money... like a black hole in my wallet or something.

--EDIT: My original question still stands: Can anyone make recommendations on a good/cheap CF hood?
