Default Bore Honing

I plan on replacing the piston rings on my GSR again this weekend. This time i'm gonna hone the walls the right way. I've read a bunch of stuff about it, but most say just get a cloth hone and put it on a power drill. What grit cloth should I get? What attachment for the drill do I need? My helms goes into pretty good deatail about the cross hatch pattern, but on a couple of online builds they seem to prefer the smooth finish. Which do I want?

Hmm, as far as I know, your best bet is going with the cross hatching. I'm not sure though.

I think the cheapest way is better, to do it myself. Specially since i don't wanna charge someone 400 dollars to do something that I could do in 20 mins.

I think the main reason he is asking is because he doesn't want to remove the engine to take it to a machine shop. I don't think that honing it while it is in the car is such a good idea. You take the risk of dinging the crank.

Excatly, I've thought about that, but still. Honda would charge me around 900 bucks for the whole thing, I don't have that kinda cash. Theres got to be another way. If there isn't then I guess i'm f*****

Is it $900 for the ring job or $900 for the honing?
