i bought the car and it had fog lights but i don't know why there not working? i've looked all over the car for buttons or something or is it there for show?? there's this red button on the console but it does nothing? who knows? also when i'm driving the car, when i'm at stop signs or lights for at least a minute, the car will seem like its going to die on me. it makes this (this is hard to describe) it seems like the car is going foward but in an instant it pushes back? does that make sense?

 

fogs might have blown bulbs or they are grounding out.

is your car manual and are you holding the clutch in? if so, could be a severely worn clutch on the way out. if its auto, the torque converter could be slipping.

I know some people who wires their foglights into the headlights so check for that. See if they work when the headlights are on. Foglights are pretty simple, you have your circuit breaker in the cab with you, with a harnes going to the battery, to a resistor outletting to another harness with 2 +'s and 2 -'s both going to the foglamp and ground. As for the low idle? Could be timing, a vacuum leak, fuel filter, pump, it has to be checked out. As for te moving forward/back thing the 2 replies up top are a good place to start. Good luck!!!
