Default Water in the hatch

I have a 94 LS that gets water in the hatch (driver's feet) every time there is a "bigger" rain ... It gets pretty annoying the I always have to take out the mat and there in few days there is a smell

I really don't know what to do, I haven't figured out how the water gets there, I only saw posting about water getting in the trunk but I haven't got that problem.

Has anybody else had this problem?

have you had your windshield replaced? amp install or wires(alarm, fog lights, neons, etc) that were run into the car through the firewall without a grommet or proper sealing(silicon)? also could be sunroof related. i have seen these cause slow leaks in some cars. off the top of my head, i can't think of any reasons why it would leak on the drivers side cuz i know the drain tube for the sunroof runs on the driver side rear, not down the front driver side(it should be on the passenger side). maybe someone else can offer a better reason, but this is a start.

i'm willing to bet that the seal around the windshield is starting to break down.

Are you sure it only happens when it rains? It could be the hose is clogged up coming from you a/c evaporator, causing the condensation to drip inside your car instead of out of it.

yes, it only happens when it rains. And only when it rains allot. In No California it rains couple of times every year but for many days (like last week) ....
I have had an alarm installed but I checked the firewall and there's no way the water can go trough there.
I was looking to see if I can find the pipe with that brings the water from around the sunroof but I couldn't ... (took out the foot rest plastic and pulled the carpet ...

I've got no other idea where else to look; I also noticed that there was water under the door (on the plastic thing that you can step on when you get in the car)

At this point the only idea I have is to let it dry completely and then when it is dry I will pour water in different places (sunroof, windshield, door) to see who's responsible for this leak ...

I have the same problem with my Teg. My issue though is the driver and passenger doors - the windows are free/no frame on them. So when i close the door it doesn't meet up with the door seal properly, and even though I can't see a gap, if i run my finger along it I can feel air.

The water dampens the floor near the doors, but i think it also gets absorbed into surrounding areas.

Can the sunroof still leak, and there be no evidence of it? (like water or dew on the ceiling)

I heard that a body shop would be able to fix this. Brie you mean the doors have no frames around the windows ? is that a standard thing ?

I couln't find the tube that brings tha watter from the sunroof.

the other thing I remember doing was replacing the left side of the windshield frame but I thouhgt the watter can't get in from there anyway ...

Hey Gabb...sorry i didn't know how to describe it well. Sport windows you know how on a normal door your windows roll up into a piece of the door (surrounds the window when closed), sports window style rolls up into the door frame, into the seal more precisely. I don't know how to describe it other than that because I'm not well versed in the lingo yet.

A lot of the threads here are talking about this, read through them - they provide some excellent tips!! I'm going to go home and try them all!!

It's the sunroof brother. I've had this conversation w/ many others @ acuraintegra.com. I had the leaky trunk syndrom in my integra and yes if you don't clean out the water it leaves a nasty odor. There are two lines that collect runoff water from the sunroof and these 2 lines connect into a single outlet that dumps the water onto the ground. The 2 lines have disconnected from the single outlet and the water is going straight into your trunk. It's a simple fix if you have the patience to take off the driver side panel in your trunk, or just get an Acura dealer to fix it. As soon as you mention the smell they'll know exactly what your talking about.
