Default Airbox Cover

I have a Homemade intake(resonator piping removed, ducting to front cowl of car, K&N Filter) In theory I would get more power out of it with the airbox cover on(e.g. Comptech icebox) but i cant tell a difference. The vtec engagement is much more pronounced with the cover off and the car is alot louder but at the same time its sucking in hot air from under the hood whereas the cover on is very quiet and vtec is not noticeable at all. Which one adds more horesepower. Ass dyno says cover off, but common sense says cover on.

maybe the sound is making it feel faster.

i would say cover on.

maybe the piping up to the box isnt right, so the filter isnt getting enough air with the cover on...

:dunno:

when i had my cover off, i think low-end got worse.. as far as top-end, i couldn't tell much of a difference. it was just louder.

maybe i'll have to do a top speed run with the cover off.

well with the colder air it helps not to lagg as much in the very beginning when you launch but up top i think they are just about the same i have had both and only notice a difference in the lower end of the rpm's
