Default HELP!! Engine swap from a LS to a GSR

Help me... i need to swap my 31,000 mile 2000 ls engine for a Vtec engine...Anyone have any good sites or any good ideas for me to do this.. i was looking for a Vtec with only 60,000-70,000. i know that will be hard but i want to trick my car out and a ls is pointless to trick out...

I heard if i make my car a ls/vtec that it will bost the hp to that like a vtec and then i could just add on to the enigne like it was a vtec....Has anyone else even heard of a LS/Vtec..if s it that true..or should i drop the money onn the Vtec enigne....

thanks for your input. :wtf:

Boost it.

And also do a search for LS/VTEC. I am sure you will find hundreds of posts about it.

The LS is pointless to trick out, oookkkk. :chuckles:
Swapping a low mileage motor for a higher mileage motor is pointless.

Boost > VTEC

B18C1 swap guide

Why not go with a B20/Vtec over LS/Vtec then? 2.0L

B20 Vtec

the ls/vtec is a decent motor. but i would say boost ur car. it has low compression all u gotta do is slap on a turbo kit and go from there. the price ur gonna pay for a straight vtec motor is gonna run u more then u could get a decent turbo kit for no doubt.

You could build it to a reliable LSVTEC. You need to upgrade, to forged rods, arp rod bolts, forged pistons, have the crank 0 balanced, golden eagle makes a girdle to hold the bearing caps together(on that you have to also upgrade to gsr spec oil pan, windage tray and pickup. I have read that you dont need the oil squirters if you your run forged pistons, the ls has crappy rods and rod bolts and no main girdle thats why IMO it blows up when people rev it to 8k+ on stock internals. I think if you upgrade what I told you to and drive it normally you can have a reliable LSVTEC. You would also have a new motor. Hmotorsonline sells there LS Swaps for 2400 I think plus shipping and your tune up parts. So you can try to sell it for like 2200 or 2000 maybe. Then use the rest of the money for a GSR swap. If I had the money I would do my LS VTEC but im just going to sell my swap and buy a GSR. You could also build a b20 but you would have to have the cylinders sleeved because there to thin. You could also boost a GSR or after you build a LSVTEC or b20 you could turbo them and it would be fast. It just depends what your going for (daily driver, ect) and how much you want to spend. Just my .02
