Hi Joepannone, thanks. I will jog down what you say and will keep that in mind. But first thing first, I will need to find the service manual, order the parts, and do the work.

Sorry about that, I'm a newbie in this board. I didn't know I shouldn't post eBay links here. You're right, I should look for the exhaust, not intake.

i wouldnt really look on ebay for a header. id look for something on like inlinefour.com ardperformance.com or andysautosport.com prostreetonline.com, they have some good choices.

Yeah 6 bills is a lot. But it is the factory and that is always costly. Get yourself a carb legal header and do it yourself. It should be name brand, cause most carb legal headers are. DC Sports, Greddy I think...I believe you'll need a 12mm socket for the head bolts, and a 14mm socket and open ended wrench for underneath where the header hooks up to the cat. Get yourself a new exhaust manifold gasket and donut flange gasket just to be on the safe side and have a good install w/no leaks. Let the car cool down real good, jack it up, stand it, remove the heat shield, spray all areas to be loosened w/WD-40 wait about five minutes and have at it. With the stock manifold there is going to be some brackets that add more support, you won't be using those so just take them out. As for the o2 sensors they should be in your cat not your manifold, so you should be good there. When putting those tension springs back on underneath use small zipstrips to keep them compressed while you put them back on. Then once you get the nut and bolt together, snip them free. Good luck!!!

there has to be an O2 sensor on the manifold and on the cat, thats how it is on most OBD2 civic EX's. instead of WD-40 you can use PB blaster, i find that to work better.

On the 96-99 GS-R there is no O2 sensor in the header, so you don't have to worry about that. There is one at the front of the cat and one at the rear.

I'd pick up a Comptech 4-2-1 or DC Sports 4-2-1. I recently picked up a used (but great condition) DC Sports 4-2-1 header for $95 shipped and have been happy so far.

Installation is not too hard... just remember to use a torque wrench on the exhaust manifold bolts so that you don't break anything.

Hi Centerforce and Joe, thanks for the tips, and I have printed out for my reference.

ChassisInnovations: Why should I go with a DC Sports part instead of a stock manifold if the price is not a factor? Simply replace the manifold wouldn't give any power boost, would it? I'm just curious. Thanks.
