Auto-Manual Swap/Conversion

Auto-Manual Swap/Conversion
I was wondering if it would be difficult to swap the engine and tranny from a 95 LS 4 door MT to a 98 LS 2 door AT?
The 95 has been totaled out by the insurance company(no fault on my part) so it has everything complete with just front and rear bumper damage. And I found a 98 AT for cheap. Could I directly swap the engine and tranny?
Do I need any different or extra mounts? I heard that 4dr tegs had wider axles than 2dr? I was thinking that all DC2 have the same internal frame and mounts so I could just directly swap everything, add clutch pedal assembly, change the gauge cluster and shift boot and be good to go or no?
Please help!

So everything will swap right in without any problems? I have never done a swap before but my friend is a mechanic and could help me. So would it be easy or difficult because I do not want to take up too much of his time. I heard that the hardest part is to find all of the parts for the swap, but since I already have a manual car, it should have all the parts I need?
I heard that the 4 door is longer than the 2 door so would the shift linkage be too long?
Do you guys know how long it would take?
Please help! Thanks again!

i believe the gauges from the wrecked car will not swap in due to different pin outs and a few other changes. i may be wrong but i think you can swap the 'green sheet' or the printed circuits on the back of the clusters but being that your gauges are for an automatic, i don't think this will work because the printed circuit will be different. just some constructive speculation, correct me if i am wrong.

not really, you probably could pick up a set of gauges for a 98+ for cheap on ebay or a local wrecking yard. try haprecycling.com, they have a lot of parts. but hopefully someone who has done this sway before can post whether or not it will work. i remember reading on this board about people swapping gauges from 94-97 to the 98+ and something to do with their gauges not working correctly specifically their fuel gauge and certain indicator lights. check on the ITR forum because thats where i think i read about it. actually i would take this as a very minor thing compared to the whole picture and remember don't get your hopes down, i may be incorrect.

The gauge cluster is not a big deal at all for now. I just wanted to show you that there are more than just the engine and tranny to think about. Another example is the console. I don't think the auto console will work out that well. You can prolly find one at a junk yard, and maybe even the stock shift knob if you want it.
Your friend the mechanic can tell you what's what when you get into it.
I think it'd be great if you could do this thing, and post pics here while you're doing it. It takes balls to do one of these so it'd be a great thing to follow.

The four door is longer, but I can't imagine they would add length where you would have different linkage for the 2 and 4 doors, Honda is a little too smart for that.
