Does it surge at all? Did this happen after you installed anything particular?

Do you have a BOV? Since I installed my BOV, I noticed the idle a bit higher and I am running much richer. It could be the problem...

Yes!

Turbochargers thrive on pressure differentials between the sides of the turbine. The less pressure there is on the exhaust side, the faster and easier the turbo will spool.

Here we go with this backpressure talk again. Your exhaust system is efficient enough, get that out of your head, and yes you should have removed the bottleneck. I don't know how you thought you could slap a turbo kit on your motor and expect it to run perfectly.

Tuning is your friend. I was always under the impression that you need little to no backpressure.

well if you talk to westcoaststyle who has a cut out, he will tell you how much of a difference there is in the lag and power. hes putting 387 to the ground with the cut out open. He is also running a closed block sleeved setup at like 20 psi. the cut out allows air to flow freely therefore not staying in the way of the rest of the turbines and freeing up the turbo. the faster the air leaves the housing, the faster it gives room for more. Anyhow check for any codes, you need to go ahead and get the final setup on there and get it tunned, turbo is not cheap in the firstplace, and can get REAL expensive when it blows your motor up because you tried to cheap out on it. There are cheap and easy ways to tune turbo now days, uberdata and hondata isnt really all that expensive. It seems as though you need to read up on FI cars a little more. There is a whole host of material or turbod16.com and HT.com. Do you homework before you go out to play, it pays off in the long run.
