Default How low is too low.

ok, i have some coilovers for my Teg, i really want to lower it cause it looks like my car is on stilts, im not really sure how low to drop it, I have dropzone coilovers, and ive heard good things and bad things about them, they were cheap, and look ok, i just need to know if anyone has lowerd there car and scrapped the crap out of your car, so how low should i go, and winter is coming in, should i maybe wait(snow & salt), what do you guys think.

i have H&R sports they go 1.5/1.75 and it scrapes from time to time....

so basicly anything lower than stock, you're going to have to drive with caution.

I got a drop of 1/25 and 1/5 from my Eibach Pro Kit, and my stock shocks of 11 years are still strong, and I only scrub in certain places where there is just the right angle on the road. The tires you use are a big factor too. I wouldn't go lower than a 45 sidewall.

lemme add in the rest of my "setup" kyb agx's

kumho ecsta 712's 205-50-15

sometimes when im out on back roads just cruisin along 55-60-65 mph, some of the dips in the road will be sharp enough to make me scrape....

what would the tire have to do with scraping? your aspect ratio is a percentage of your tire width.... a bigger rim goes a smaller tire. in the end, its the same diameter if you do it right. a 205-50-15 is no different than a 185-60-14

I'm lowered about 1.6" on Tein SS coilovers, with 205-45R16 tires. I have to be quite careful in spots.

I see no point in going lower than 1.75" for a street-driven car.

And I wouldn't bother with the Dropzone C/Overs. A bit of a no-name brand IMO. Sell 'em and move up to a matched spring and shock set. H&R's Cup Kit & Tein's Basic come to mind. h:

I am going to buy kyb agx shocks and eibach springs. Currently i got 195/55/15 falken tires. I was wondering how low i can go without having to worry about scraping. 1.5" or 1.7" eibach springs?
