sound deadening in trunk

Default sound deadening in trunk

so the sound deadening material in the floor of my trunk is cracking and chipping away in large pieces... what should i do? im wondering if i should remove whats left of it (still a lot) and put new stuff in... if so what should i use?

I would say just remove all you can, if it's too noisy after that, go get a can of spray in sound deadening about $25 for dynashield, otherwise it's just dead weight

weight is of no concern h:

for as little weight the sound deadening adds, i see it as no reason to remove it. im more concerned about rust and damage to my trunk...

I used DynaMat Extreme in my trunk. That stuff is tight! Its really lightweight but stops rattles and minimizes road noise.

As far as rust and damage goes you should be fine. I removed mine about 6 months ago and everything is still normal. When I get around to it I may get a $0.99 can of spray paint from Wal-Mart and paint it.

i just bought some dynamat.. i am going to put it in my trunk .. hopefully it will work good

mine is too james. but its because water was pooling in there and getting underneath the adhesive crap.

i plan on removing the rest - see how loud it is, and then decide if i want to get dynamat.
