Default so i drove my sisters g2 today....

my sister took her car in for NYS inspection yesterday and it failed cuz of broken coil spring up front.... well, lucky for her i just happened to have a couple spares layin around, strut still on em even so i swapped em over for her...

afterwards, i took it on a little..... test drive... :rick:

her car has a ton more life than mine.... hers is a 92 RS , mine is a 94 LS.... hers has i think 201k and mine has 217k..... hers has stock susp. and i have H&R sports with KYB AGX.... and i think hers handles better than mine too.... i was like ehhh wtf! if i didnt prefer the style of 94+ id sell it in a heartbeat and buy another g2 cuz that thing put my car to shame.... the worst part is she still has her freaking snow tires on!!!

im wondering if gettin rid of my power steering will make mine handle more like hers.... and i know i need to get mine aligned but i cant imagine that makes such a huge difference... im about to go crazy with sway bars here cuz im embarassed that her stock 92 drives better both handling and engine/acceleration than my 94 h:

yeah it was kind of a slap in the face for me, too.... i used to drive a g2 but got rid of it for my 94.... the g2 was kinda hammered... no it was really hammered so it was easily justified. i noticed that stock-stock the g2 was a better handling and driving car but by the time i had put my new susp on, i had all but forgotten how the g2 drove so i figured my car had to be better..... sorrrrrrrrrely disappointed.

Seems to me the G2 is lighter, and lighter is better. The G3 has a much more advanced suspension and has a lot better potential. I drove a G2 GS sedan and was impressed with how flat it cornered, nice handing feel too.

yeah ive always been impressed with the lack of body roll.... but im not kidding when i say every aspect of handling, her car was better than mine. steering felt tighter, handled flatter, it was easier to "read" and the car did exactly what i wanted it to do.... my car just feels softer

what pissed me off probably the most as far as handling goes is that she still has her blizzak snow tires which are harder than hell and they held on just as well if not better than my kumho ecsta 712s..... we'll see if i buy those tires again, im just gonna get some blizzaks next time around

Default Shopping

I own a G2 and have been shopping for a G3. I get car buying fever sometimes. Over the past few months of doing various test drives I have come to a similar conclusion.

The G2 tegs are holding up very well. I would say that of the 6 G3 tegs I've test driven, only 2 were noticably better than what I currently own.

Mine has fewer squeeks and road noise. I also believe the suspensions are very comparable. My G2 handles as well as any of the G3 I drove. I don't think mine accelerates as well though.

The darker interiors hold up really well too. I have grey cloth that looks way better than even a few year old tan interior.

I guess I'll have to keep it for a few more years......needs paint BAD.

James,

You would be AMAZED what your car could do as soon as you put a fAT rear sway bar on. It completely changed how my car drove (96 teg LS)

Also, check out my small image thread.. I made a red teggie for ya

Joe -

im working on gettin some ITR bars and a beaks or bsq kit

on a sidenote, i set my struts to 2 on front and 3 on back last nite and it did handle much tighter but still disappointing that her car would be anywhere near or better than my car....
