Default LS VTEC or Build LS head?

I was wondering if I should go LS VTEC with a b16a head off a del sol or should I port my LS head, get a set of cams, and port match my intake manifold and my header the head. Right now I dont have an aftermarket header or intake manifold but if I did that work I would get a set of aftermarket ones. One of my friends said my LS will be fast with doing the porting to the head, ect. If I do LS VTEC the rev limiter will stay at 7200 until my motors built so. By the way im NOT asking if ls vtec is reliable. Im just asking which I should go with by others experience.
Thanks

LS/VTEC is plenty reliable, if you invest the $3k or so to make it worthwhile and reliable.

If not, build the PR4 head you have. It's not too difficult to get it up to B18C output, just the idle suffers a bit, along with the emissions output.

So would LS VTEC be worth it if im just leaving the rev limiter at 7200? My buddy had his del sol smashed so I can possibly get the head off of him. But I dont wanna mess anything up by leaving at a rev limiter of 8200. From what I read dont put it to 8200 until I have atleast strong rods and rod bolts so. But I dont want my car to idle like no v8. Im eventually going to build the bottom end and move up the limiter but not for a while so.
Thanks

By the way I plan to sometime add forced induction to the setup(turbo most likely). I have heard that the vtec cam lobes arent good with forced induction.

No, not really. Buy the head and keep it in the garage until you can afford to really use it.

Ok this is what I have heard I should do. Get a skunk 2 intake manifold, dc sports header, a set of cams(i dont know what kind). Then have my header and intake manifold port matched to the head. Then have the head ported and maybe polished.
I can get the work done for cheap maybe free. So it would just be buying the parts that would cost me. Anyone have any opinions or better ideas?
Thanks for your opinions

LS/VTEC if not done right, will be a costly mistake, just supercharge the damn thing and be done with it
