Didn't they start putting the knock sensor's in gsr's in 96?(obd2)

No, all GS-R's (92-93 B17A1 and 94-01 B18C1) and Type R's (all B18C5) have them.

just curious, how does a non-vtec car deal with this when a vtec engine is swapped in? do you have to add it in the wiring harness or eliminate it from the engine? :thinking:

if you don't use the engine harness/ecu harness for the VTEC motor, then you have to wire the knock sensor into its ECU pinout.

It's the exact same deal as installing a VTEC engine into a Civic, just add a few wires.

yeah, i think im gonna just look for a gs-r wiring harness, save myself some effort
