Default skunk IM installed..questions

i have a 99 gsr with basic i/h/e and a vafc. after having the IM installed i must say off butt dyno vtec pulls a whole lot harder. low end has suffered though. it doesnt acelerate like it use to. vtec was set to 5500 and fuel was added when vtec engages..thats temporaryuntil i dynotune it next week. .my concern is while im on the freeway going about 80 and punch the gas, is it normal that it doesnt pick up as quick as when i had a gsr mani? when i downshift, vtec is loud as hell but doesnt seem like im going anywhere. another questions is holding the throttle at about 50% and then flooring it theres a weird sound of a whole lot of air sucking in, is that from the IM bc it wasnt like that before..

You're probably not used to having no secondaries. The skunk manifold eliminates the vtec secondaries.

so is it normal that when comparing a constant 50 percent throttle to a floored throttle, the engine is way louder..is that coming from the IM? i never had that diff in sound when i floor it..

upgrade your cams with some sk2 cams and cam gears and valve springs and you will notice major power gains...the combo of i/h/e + intake manifold, cam gears, and cams will increase power a great bit...but then you will need to work on upgrading your fuel...goodluck

i have those mods, cai/im/tb/h/e/no cat/ ecu/vtc afc/ and skunk2 stage 1 cams! the fuel mods that my guy told me about was a fuel pressure regulator cause u can tune your top end more and fuel rail wouldnt hurt. I dyno'd at 175 with cams.My q/t mile time was 14.3 and a 60ft. of 1.7 with out slicks. Yeah u will be fine with stock injectors, dont touch them.

P.S. get a trottle body u will get some of the response back u were talking about that u lost, i had the same feeling.
