Default Intake/coolant?

My question pertains to the bracket that connects the breather hose that goes into the intake and the coolant line to the throttle body. I ran a new hose from the valve cover nipple to the intake pipe. Now the only thing utilizing the bracket is the coolant line that runs to the throttle body. I would like to remove the bracket all together and run the throttle body coolant line directly across with a new hose. My question: If you can bypass the throttle body coolant line? Or should I just reconnect it like I planned? Just curious what everyone else did.

On our race car we removed the coolant lines all together to keep the intake as cool as possible ( cold air more hp) , now that is great for a race car not so good for a street car that needs to run in cold weather. The coolant will heat the intake charge in cold weather ( not to big of a problem in south Texas). In a colder area it would not be advisable..

Before ITR Expo 3, the owner of SMS Products removed the intake warming from my car.

In theory this is a minor advantage. I don't know how to predict what kind of gain this would give you but in theory you would gain in a small way.

I am in Virginia and have experienced no ill effects in winter.

Thanks for the replies. I am only driving my ITR during the summer months so I don’t believe me bypassing the throttle body coolant lines will adversely affect my ITR. Is there a write up on how to bypass the throttle body coolant line or could anyone give me some pointers. Thanks again.

Just loop the lines back to the block and intake. If you going to do that i would recomend that you also install a intake isolator like one from Hondata it would also work to keep the intake temps down.. I can shoot a few pics of our b16 with a jdm type r intake on it which has this done to it. There are two places that have coolent one is the throttle body and the other is the Idle Air By pass both will need to be by passed.
