I can buy a used suspension setup (only 3,000 miles on it) which consists of H&R Sports and regular KYB's for $250

or

I can buy a new setup which consists of H&R Sports, KYB AGX's and a Skunk 2 Short Shifter for $550.


What would you do and why would you do it?

i paid 150 new shipped for my H&R's
i paid 306 new shipped for my KYB's

456$ for that stuff, do you think the skunk 2 short shifter is really worth the extra 94$? i dont but thats just me...

so even if you dont choose #1, i wouldnt go with #2 either.

 

Option 1 worries me. I doubt the [regular] KYB shocks will work well with the H&R springs. The shocks will probably be too soft for the H&R springs...the shocks will probably blow out in a year's time, I bet.

OTOH, Option 2 doesn't sound fantastic either. While the adjustability of the KYB AGX shocks is a plus, I'd go for a lowering spring that is engineered to work with the AGXs. Mixing and matching makes me :nervous:

I :dunno:... For the money, I'd go with an H&R Cup Kit (if you're sticking w/ H&R as a brand). That way the shocks & springs are designed for compatibility.

how do you like the setup? Do you adjust the shocks often? Is it worth the adjustability?

 

i like it a lot... i do use the adjustabilty but only about once a week... usually i leave it set on 1f and 2r, but once a week or so, my need for a hard windy back road drive wakes up and i turn them all to 4 (living in upstate NY has its perks)

the 1f/2r is perfect for daily driving, its even a nicer ride than my stock suspension offered me.

you wont regret going with this set up :thumbup:

 

I'd buy option #2 because of the short shift plus I got some H&R's and I love them, definatly worth the price brand new!!
