Default LS head buildup

Hey there
I want to build up a head for my b18b ls engine. I'm going to have it ported and polished, as well as new springs and retainers, and cams and gears. I'm going to eventually put the car on a bottle of nitrous. What i'm trying to figure out is do i need to upgrade the valves? If so, i havent found anywhere online that has performance or race valves for the b18b head. Also, if anyone out there has built up there LS engine, please email me with any info that would be of value. Thanx

I've never seen a titanium valve before, only stainless steel or sodium-filled stainless steel.

Crower makes some nice slightly oversize stainless valves, part numbers 97408-I for the intake side and 97408-E for the exhaust, but they run about $300 for the whole set and are a special order item. Can't say I know how much of a performance gain they will provide though.

One thing to keep in mind though is that if you're building up the bottom end, going with a VTEC head will make you more power even if it's not built to the extent of the LS head.

The only place I know of where those exist is the first Fast & Furious movie where they're giving thanks for car parts at the barbeque.

Upgraded valve spring retainers are commonly made from titanium.

The thing is, titanium is a complete PITA to work with, and it's not a very common metal. Titanium has a nasty habit of chewing up, wearing out or breaking steel tools.

Any B-series DOHC VTEC head, a PR3 (B16*, B17A, B18C Type R, B18C5) or P72 (B18C1) casting.
