Integra paint job maybe maco????
Well im putting a wings west kit on my car and giving it a paint job. Here's the question.... There is this guy in my town that does some straight up awsome work. He has painted a couple of show cars around town and they look kick ass; anyway he said he would paint it and put the body kit on for 1600.00 and it would be 300 more dollars to change the color (doing inner doors around hatch etc) anyway i was thinking about just taking it to the local Macco or maaco however you spell it, anyway they offer paint jobs starting at 200.00 all the way up to their best one at like 800.00 what do yall think i should do.. any experience with maco? I know this one chick that has a 250.00 maco paint job and it actually looked pretty descent.. well what do yall think i should do???
Thanks

Damn go with your friend that sounds like a killer deal. My buddy just has his Tundra painted/changed the color, and the shop charged 2,800 just for the outside, they didnt even touch the door jams for that. Granted for 2,800 it looks perfect.
BTW where are you located?

Paint is something I would spend the money on without even thinking twice about it. 1600 for a good paint job is really a good deal imo. If you care about your car looks, which you do, you don't take your car to Macco unless you like overspray, poor prep work, thin paint, spider webs and fading.

As alluded to by many a fellow member...nowhere is the saying, 'You get what you pay for." more true than in painting a car. Nothing replaces quality prep work.

I have a few friends who have macco paint jobs. The only reason to go there is:
A) You like sh***y paint jobs
B) You think a sh***y paint job looks better than four colors of primer and you really can't afford a good paint job.

So it'd be $1900 for total color change, kit install and fitment? if he does a good job, its a pretty sweet price. If you think its steep, you could get away with just painting the kit. Regardless, dont go to Maaco, i heard sometimes they dont bother to wash the car and paint over the dirt ... ?!
