Default 1300 for paint?

i got an estimate at a good body shop locally.... when i say good i mean ive seen their work and it's flawless....

1300 for a fresh coat, including stock sideskirts and front lip
also gonna sandblast my rear fenders and patch em up (they are startin to scab)

also gonna pull out any little dings....

how does that price sound? it sorta threw me back when i heard it, i didnt expect to pay so much

that's actually pretty cheap. I'd say go for it. I work in that kinda business and that's a good price. But when you get it back from paint...check for paint lines, swirls in paint, and the amount of dirt in the paint.

Your friend probably spent a little more money on that paint then. Anytime you lay down a Candy color...you'll spend a lil' bit more b/c the whole process is more extensive...but when it's completed, it's Immaculate. But usually...the candy color is layed down first as the base. It all depends on the color you're going for.

That's actually pretty damn good, since it sounds like they are doing the body prep. Provided they do a good job of trim removal and masking -- things ought to go well, if their other work is any testament..

That is actually very very cheap. There has got to be a catch, they probaly just spray it and that is it.

On second thought, you might be right. Maybe there is a catch..

I :dunno:, his post kind of alludes to some measure of prep...dent removal, the sandblasting, etc. h:

The only way to know for sure is to the actual estimate, methinks.. h:

Damn, that's a good price. I paid 1300 to get my grill insert and roof repainted (fix rust).
