local hardware store if you really want to do that. I see people doing it, but the car they are doing it to is about 17 years old and all beat up. Dont go with this route unless you have no where else to turn.

Yup, this is correct.

I checked the part numbers and there are two different sets of hatch stays for models with or without spoilers.

You should be able to get them at any Acura dealer. Just tell them you need the stays for an ITR to avoid any confusion. Or you can order them from Majestic Acura. Their part numbers (these are not the Acura part numbers) are 50808 for the right and 50991 for the left.
