Default i decided to go all motor on my 2000 gsr here is my plans

usdm itr pistons for 2000 gsr

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i currently have aem intake,dc421 header and greddy sp catback. I dont wanna change current setup.
Here are my plans:
-Spoon 2 ply headgasket
-usdm itr pistons not sure if i should get standard or +.25mm.I want 2 raise compression to at least 11.5.1
-portflow valvetrain
-skunk 2 intake manifold-Do i need to buy a itr intake system?
-skunk 2 stage 1 cams/cam gears
-apex i super vtec controller 2
I want to gain at least 30 whp in powerband.I want midrange to high range power. Idont really need to raise the redline,by up to 9 rpm would be great.
Iwill daily drive and want to be able to pass smog with reliabiltity.
What do you guys think?

Prelude 290cc injectors will most likely be fine for fuel. Don't waste money on ignition "upgrades" since they don't do anything. Plan on tearing into the block and adding pistons to get your static compression to at least 11.5:1. If you don't have quality support mods (read: good i/h/e), you'll not have the air flow needed for the cams. You have to upgrade your valvetrain for s2s2 cams. You may want to consider a port and polish from a quality porter as well.

Keep in mind that n/a build-ups take a lot of planning and money. You can't just come up with a grocery list of parts, throw them in the car, and expect it to perform properly.

You don't need a new fuel rail. The stock one has been proven up to 400hp. If you're looking into injectors, you have to plan out how much power you want to be making. Stock 240cc injectors can handle a nice portion of extra power before you certain they need to be upgraded. You can keep your stock ignition as well, an MSD box won't help much.

well i decided with a hondata s200 or apex vafc because i heard with hondata you have to switch to obd 1 and to a chipped p28 ecu, does it go the same with apex vafc, here are my new plans, after doing a little research, eagle rods and pistons, not sure what type of injectors, skunk 2 mani with jg edelbrock 65 mm throttle body,

If you're looking for that level of power, your header and exhaust are going to be holding you back, whether you want to change them or not.

The rest of your plans sound good, although I'd go with slightly higher compression if I were to go through the trouble of swapping pistons. I'd also use different cam sprockets, and I'd save some money by using an S100 instead. As for the S2 IM, yes, you'll need an intake designed for an ITR.

With a Spoon 2-ply head gasket in a B18C1 you're looking at about 11.1:1 CR. I think you're in California which means you're limited to 91 octane gas, so that should be high enough.

I agree with Padawan about your exhaust. Your DC 4-2-1 and GReddy SP may be fine for a stock motor, but they're really a limiting factor when building the engine like this. Some of the more affordable 2.5"-collector headers out there are the DC JDM 4-1, '98-'01 JDM ITR OEM, and A'PEXi for '98-'01 JDM ITR. Landspeed Racing and a couple of other places sell pre-welded high flow catalytic converters to bolt up with a 2.5" header. As for a 2.5" exhaust that's harder to find, but if your aftermarket catback has 60 mm (about 2.36") piping that might be reasonably sufficient. Ideally you'd want to go with a custom 2.5" setup.
