indiglo gauges
k well i just got my indiglo gauges in yesterday and i've already got everything installed and hooked up except for the power wire. I grounded the ground wire to a screw that was back in where the gauges go but i have no clue as to what wire i should hook the power wire up to. I want the guages to come on when i turn on my parking lights so wouldn't i just hook the power wire up to the parking lights wire..which wire is the parking lights wire or should i hook it up to a different wire... Can anyone tell me what wire i have to hook this power wire up to because thats all i need to do and i'm done. Thanx

Hey,
Look at your fuse panel. There are five extra power lugs. One of them is on only when the key is turned to the on position (I think it is the fifth one). Use that for power. Use the Headlight switch lead, (you can find this on the dimmer, it is either black with red, or red with black, I can't remember) to be 12 volts positive to a standard 12 volt automotive relay. This relay should click, when you turn on your headlights. Now, hook the power from the fuse panel up to the normally open connection of the relay, and the power connection of the power inverter (supply, normally red, but 12 +) to the common connection of the relay. What will happen is every time you turn on your parking/head lights the relay will close connecting the 12 from your fuse panel to the power inverter. This has a couple good effects. Your indiglos will not flash when you chirp your alarm (because power only works if the key is on) so it will not burn out your power inverter. Also some people will use the power from the dimmer to power the inverter, but this will burn it out after a couple of months.
If you have any more questions hit me up with an email

Well, I hope that helps.

ok i followed that guide on that site and it said to hook up the power cable to the dimmer power cable, a red and black wire.((the dimmer controller thats to the right of the steering wheel)) Well i did that and it still didn't work. Any clue as to whats wrong now? I thought maybe bad grounding but i took the ground wire and put it on something i knew for sure was good grounding and it still didn't work. I don't know what to do now someone help.

hrm.. did you try the last red wire.. when i opened up mine the order was from left to right.. red wire and then red/with black line, then the black. I hooked the red power to the very left red wire and then hook the other to ground. if that still dont work after you check out connections make sure it isnt faulty.

yea i decided last night to just straight up hook the guages up to my battery to see if they were faulty. I hooked them up and they lit up for like 5 seconds and then went out. They wouldn't light up again. So they're faulty. I sent them out today to the company and they're gonna replace them so i should be able to figure these things out when i get them back cause i think i had the right wire the last time its just they wouldn't light up cause they were faulty.
