If you just want some good tires you can pick up a set of Bridgestone BT70s for ~$40-$50 per tire. That would make a full set of 4 approximately equal to what you want to pay for 2.

They're all season, have a reasonable amount of traction, and aren't some ghetto-brand.

For a couple more bucks you could step up to the Potenza G009.

You'll like them. In some manoeuvres, I'd swear they grip every bit as well as the famous Azenis.

To digress further from your philosophical tire discussion, forgive the noobness, but what does the 65 in 195/65-14 stand for and how does it differ from stock 60? $180 for 4 tires shipped sounds pretty good for my cheap/lazy ass.

To my understanding (I may be wrong) but the 65 in 195/65-14 represents the Percent of 195. Like 65 is 65% of 195...and the 65 is how high the tire sticks up above the rim. I'm not good at explaining things...but I know what I'm trying to say, lol.

LOL...

You got the basic idea.

A 195-70-14 tyre will have a greater diameter (be taller) than a 195-60-14 tyre.
