Finally the clutch kit and flywheel that had been sitting on my dresser for the past couple of weeks got installed. I took it to my local stealership (Sutton Acura) and dropped the car off with the parts. an hour and a half later i get a call from Kenny, the Service Manager. To make a long story short (about this anyways) he told me that they were going to have to remove my header to get to a bolt on the tranny. Because of the extra work it was going up to $625 I told him I would come back and pick the car up. He said he would call me back in 15 and to let him talk with Chas, the guy working on my car. I said ok. He called back 15 min later and said we'll do it [for the price we quoted], its just a little extra work. I said thank you and hung up.
So this morning i picked up the car. With the clutch and flywheel installed and the tranny fluid changed. I paided them $403.75
So without further adue, my review:
a dodge viper dont have anything on my clutch. ITS A FUCKING LEG PRESS! There is no play in the pedal at all, the clutch engages as soon as you move your foot with a lot of kick back. As some of you might be getting the wrong idea, I love this clutch. It is going to take some getting used to. I like the feel of a heavy clutch b/c you can really feel the engagement. As for the flywheel, my car is A LOT smoother! The speedo sweeps just about as fast as the tach too. The car doesnt strain anymore. Cruising @ 90mph @ 5,000 rpms the normal strain felt from the car is no longer present. The car seems like its begging for more revs. The myth that a light flywheel makes you rev the shit out of the car just to get it to go is completely false. I might have had to rev it 300rpms higher than before to get it to go at the same rate as before.

My final verdict: The ACT XTSS clutch and 8.8lb fly was worth every penny

so after 5 days and 300 miles the clutch seems to be softening up a little more. It is still engaging pretty hard, but I havent been slamming gears nor have i taken it past 5,500 rpms. This is the first REAL performance clutch I have ever had install in any car I have owned. I am almost positive that this is normal for break in but Im just double checking. Thanks!

ya, u want a good 500 miles or more on the clutch before you go ape shit with it. The break-in period can be a little more where thats a heavy clutch, you may even want to go like 750 miles. But ya it's normal for it t be reacting as you said
