anyone have an ACT clutch?
I need a new clutch for my GSR. I'm thinking of going with the ACT A14-HDSS which is the Heavy Duty Pressure Plate with the Organic Street Disk. it lists it as being 30% over stock pressure and then theres the A14-XTSS which uses the Xtreme Pressure Plate and provides 70% over stock. I need something that I can use on the street for stop and start driving and of course when I want to race I want the grip and neck snap to be there.. If anyone owns one of these ACT clutches please tell me how it is for daily driving. Thanks

my cousin has the extreme pressure plate on his Si...driving it is fun (especially with the 8.75lb flywheel ).
it's a little weird at first, but you get used to it pretty quick and don't even notice it anymore.
Personally, I'm gonna get the heavy duty plate instead, though.

I've got the XTSS with 7.5 lbs flywheel and I love the clutch, it grabs very well. You can still drive it on the street, stop and go with little problems, it will take some getting used to. When I first backed out of the garage after installing it my face was almost planted on the steering whell it pulled so hard and engaged really, really quick. I would definitely go with XTSS, I think that the HDSS would have been too close to stock for me.

Thats the whole point of the HDSS, to be comfortable so your head doesnt smack the steering wheel
The HDSS is a good choice for 90% of the people looking to upgrade their clutch. It grabs harder than stock and can hold more power, while offering comfort for daily driving...the XT press plate is a bit much for most people.

Yes, unless you are going to be running extreme amounts of HP, the XTSS is overkill. It likes to snap axles A LOT. The HDSS still grabs very well, and is a stiffer pedal than stock, but not too stiff. I love mine with my 7lb flywheel.
