How exactly do you properly launch a stock R? Should I dump the clutch or feather it? (Keep in mind that I would rather not burn out my clutch for a 10th of a second) I've never raced at the strip and ANY advice is appreciated.

A stock R really isn't set up for the strip, it's set up for the track. But you need to lower the front tire pressure to about 20 or so psig. Then you will just have to experiment with launch RPM, when I still had stock suspension and tires, I launched at a low RPM like 3000 to 4000 to prevent wheel hop and excessive wheelspin. Just play around with it until you get your best 60 foot.
