Cold Air or Short Ram ? Which is best for the R?

Cheapest way to go is to make the Factory System more efficient.
Remove the Air Sliencer (located behind the front bumper) then replace the filter with a better flowing K&N or some other high flow airfilter.
You culd go with a Short Ram and a "Ice Box" Setup this is probably the best of both worlds.
A CAI is designed based on a concept that colder air is more dense. YES this is true but the trick is that there must be atleast a 11 degree difference between the TEMP outside the engine bay and the Temp inside the engine bay for you to gain 1% hp increase. Question is how hot is it under your hood WHILE DRIVING verses the Temperature outside?
There are Draw backs to the CAI, but in many cases the gains out weigh the draw backs and that's why people use them. But the risk of HYDROLOCK is greatly increased.
