Question regarding 2000 USDM ITR front end.
#1
I recently had my bumper cover and my chin spoiler replaced on my 2000 Type R. I double checked and triple checked the part numbers. The bumper cover had to be special ordered and the chin spoiler had to be special ordered also from Acura.
Now, here is the problem, everything was mounted up the same exact way. But for some reason the the chin spoiler is a lot more recessed than before. I still have the original parts. A former Acura Tech. told me that Acura changed manufacturers of their bumper covers and chin spoilers and that accounts for the minor change. After looking at other Type R pics I noticed that some look the same as mine(now, with a little more recessed chin) then I also notice that some look like mine did originally also(with the slightly more protruding chin).
Is there a part # difference?

To the best of my knowledge acura hasn't changed the part since march of 98', though I could be mistaken in saying so.
The 2 door integra front bumper is the same in all integras, the lip is an add on piece. If it seems to be mounting slightly differently, you can bend the metal clips in the front corners of the lip, where the lip curves. Don't have any pictures, but it's a little bracket that can be bent which will raise or lower the lip ever so slightly.
I'd really need to see some pics of what you're talking about, it just sounds like it needs to be played around with a little...
