Hey man i know where you coming from without the green card thing. You do not need to have a green card to get financial aid, need to not be illegal and perhaps have an alien card, that will set u up for financial aid.

I am in the same boat. I am trying to get financial aid, so I can spend some money on my integra or perhaps buy a bike for summer. My integra is an automatic, put about 100 miles everyday going to school and home, just in a limbo on to saving money to buy a new engine and perhaps a standard swap or buy a bike.

From what I gather you're trying to choose between school and keeping your car. I understand your reasons for trying work hard this summer to keep the car which is good but at the same time, college is much more important than a car in my opinion. Sure it may suck to have to sell your car but you've got to think in the long term. You will be much better off in the future having finished college and be able to land a much better job.

also if i took it right 100 miles to get to school, you do need transpertation to get there i would just work my ass off. you need a car and you need college but in your case you need one for the other (or a buss) maybe you should just save up 150 bucks get a bike park the car in the garauge stop paying insurance... or go to a lower rate of insurance, like me i have to do comp and theif only to keep my teg :\. im sure you can save up fast, if you feel safe with that.

get a student visa :dunno:

or sell your car and buy one that is a little older, then you have some extra cash without giving up integras altogether.

i have mixed ideas about college so im not gonna say one way or the other, its your decision... lets just say if i had it to do over again, i wouldnt do it the same way.... but if you like what you're doing and you have a good idea what you want to do when you're finished, you gotta stick to it.

you could find a fulltime job and switch to night school....
