Well brown isnt really the ideal color.
Also, see how you can see each "bump"? The belt is worn enough that from the top you can see each individual bump clearly...thats a sign of wear as well. Maybe not enough to demand an immediate replacement, but enough to show that its seen some time.

Not true. My timing belt just went...didn't break but stretched to the point where it jumped timing. The timing was way off but the enging is fine. I just changed the belt (water pump and tensioner while I was in there) and everything is cool.

Well guys i love this site first off :P you guys perswaded me into getting my timeing belt replaced faster then what was on my list :P althought i did need to replace the clutch first.... cant drive with no clutch :P i checked the timeing belt while i had that shiz off and it looked bad so ive been babbieing it, maybe i should replace it huh :\ i see a small starting of a crack :P, have to save though :\ resently got my car broken into and i just got the damn thing :P had to get window and alarm :\ 600 bucks in total no radio is a drag but i guess i can listen to the engine a little longer and just get the timeing belt lol,
