Default Gutted Cat and CEL

i kno i kno, you guys must have comments about me having a gutted cat, but nevermind that. i have a 2000 integra LS with obd2 obviously. when i put on my gutted cat, my CEL came on with that 02 sensor efficiency code. bla bla bla nothing i didnt expect, but my question is does it put my ECM in limp mode? i've been told it doesnt, but i just want to make sure with what u guys think. thanks.

It's entirely possible, but I honestly don't know for sure.

Gutted cats are ruinous to exhaust gas velocity; you might as well run a test pipe (but you didn't hear that from me).
The best thing to do is to get a PowerCore hi-flow cat.
I'm surprised the police haven't stopped you. I know I can smell the difference. h:

I'm pretty lucky I guess. in the 6 plus years i've had a driver's license, and the 2.5 years I've had my car, i've only been pulled over once (2 years ago), and it was just a verbal warning for my headlights being too blue (hiper white headlights from back in the day). I'm actually about to put the stock cat back on in a few minutes anyway.

i've had the gutted cat for a few months now, but now its starting to bug me with the nasty smells and raspy exhaust note.

I've had the same problem, my rear o2 (the one on the cat itself) is bad. I talked to an exhaust guy i know and the local Acura dealer, and both told me it doesn't affect anything. However, mine is a 96, and if i remember right a saw a post awhile back that they changed something in the diagnostics for newer years, but don't quote me on that.

:nono: What I said is certainly not :blah:.
I meant what I said about running a cat. Smog sucks. I know from experience.
