whining noise when turning wheel??
i get a whining noise kinda like a dog whimpering when i turn at a speed about 20km or faster... i dont have to completely turn the wheel over just a sudden turn of the steering wheel either direction will initate this noise and will kinda be rhythmic until the wheel straightens... i recently had my tranny dropped and put back on and as most of you know the driveshafts were taken off and on again.. could something be loose or just something worn? i did notice when i turned left at about the same threshold of speed the noise was faint and was there at times before i got the tranny dropped.. so i dunno if its a coincidence both sides make the noise now or if something needes to be lubed or is getting bad... also if i go on a straight line and somewhat pull the wheel to either side it will make the noise but not contunious.. just one small noise... i know my axles are fine wheel bearing maybe? but its exaclty like a dog whimpering.. kinda same rhythm on and off too... i think wheel bearings sound more of a howling noise? any input would be great!
thanks

Yeah, check your power steering fluid. Top it off, and read your manual to make sure you use the correct amount and type of fluid.
If that's not it, you could be needing a new Power Steering Belt soon; but I'd say it's probably just fluid.

the belt has been changed like a couple months ago.. the fluid may need to be topped off but it seems like it only comes from the drivres side on either rite or left turns.. hmmm.. could be the PS then since thats on the drivers side.

why would brake pads have to do with them? they are only a year old btw.. shocks are 2 years old(koni yellows) and springs are 2 years old as well.. like i said must be something in the alignment or MAYBE the power steering

well of couse it's in the powersteering, if it only happens while the wheel turns, and see if you can get it to make the noise while standing beside the car and see/hear about where it's coming from with the hood open and look for any fluid that may be out also besure to inspect the rack and pinion directly behind your axles and mounted along the firewall under the car!

It's much more likely however that the problem is low power steering fluid. Just make sure when you top it off that you use a fluid which is compatible with Honda power steering systems. It'll say so on the bottle.
Also something to consider is that the p/s pump on the G2 Integra tends to go bad and start leaking all over the place. That's usually what causes the fluid level to be low. Look on your hood liner above the pump and see if there's any evidence of fluid having been up there. Fluid will leak out of the pump and the belt throws it up on the underside of the hood.
Some people are able to fix the problem by replacing a high pressure hose but the system is really tricky to find leaks in.
