Cv Joint Blown
Ok my cv joing has been gone for over 2 months, and now it starting to knock. If I was to replace to boot and greese will it stop knocking or do I need to change the whole axle? Anyone know where I can get the axles from?
Thanks

I've always recommended replacing the entire axle. Once your boot is cracked/torn, there's no telling what kinds of debris has found its way into your grease and joint.
I picked up remanufactured axles from Auto Zone for about $85 or so. They come with limited lifetime warrenty and I've already had to replace one under that warrenty because the boot split prematurely. The warrenty was honored and I've had no problems with the new axles since then.
Unless you're putting out over 200 or so WHP, you can stick with either OEM or even rebuilt OEM axles.

I just had this problom with my 93, the boot is cracked/torn and if you've been riding on it for 2 months you may have caused more damage to that axle than can be fixed by replacing the boot and grease. Replace the whole axle and you will have a smooth ride again. Check Acura Dealer.

If youve been riding on a creaking joint and torn boot for 2 months (with the boot probably being torn for much longer) who knows what condition that joint is in. You should replace the joint, which, as recommended above, means you may as well swap the axle.
