not impressed with 712's

Yeah, tires are the most important factor in how a car handles.
If you guys go on tirerack.com and check out the "Max Performance" category, that's what'll really keep you stuck to the road. The Falken Azenis and Toyo T1-S are also in this league although tirerack doesn't sell them.

I've used the Kumho 712's and they were a pretty darn good tire for the money. I'm using Kumho MX tires on my cobra and they're a little more expensive than the 712's but they hook pretty well for a street tire.

I had a set on 18" wheels when I had my rsx. I loved them. They weren't the best I've ever had but for the price they can't be beat.

I finally got the rims i've been waiting for. I got a brand new set of yokohama es100's in 205/40/17. I slammed the car cuz i didnt want the truck look so it rubs the front fenders when i take turns hard, so i havent been able to feel how far they can go. i gotta break em in anyway, but they feel great so far.

Having read this thread...I want to extend my sympathies to all of my Integra-driving brethren that have to deal with snow for months on end. :happysad:
That said, I guess I'd spring for some bona-fide snow tires and a set of steelies if I was in the same situation. :dunno: The thought of running a tire like the 712 in snow makes me nervous...:eek3:.
