I pay $330 a month now for my 2000 LS with $1000 Collision, and $1000 Comprehensive for deductibles.

How the hell did you pull that off? You are either 50 years old or you are still on your parent's policy. I've got family in your neck of the woods and its tough to get insurance that low on a piece of shit, let alone a GSR.

I'm probbly gonna buy this 96' GSR and last night I did a progressive test and they quoted me (liability only) at $317 for 6 months. And I'm 21 (but clean record)

Yeah, it might have something to do with me being married and in grad school. But I thought that it was extremly reasonable.

That's probably the difference. If you are only getting liability then its easy to get cheap rates. If you get full coverage (the way most banks who finance you require you to do) then its going to be more expensive. Since the bank is the one who actually owns the car, they make you get full coverage in case anything happens so they don't lose everything if it gets stolen or wrecked. If you find someplace to finance you, or if you have the money to pay cash, then you can get bottom of the barrel rates because you hardly have any coverage. Liability sucks if you get in an accident or a hit and run or if your car gets stolen. You can have your 600 dollar a year rates for that kind of coverage. I want my car to be insured.

170 each month. I had a gs prior to my gsr, and i paid exactly the same (although my gsr is a 4-door, and my gs was 2-door). Pemco insurance. 17 years old and full coverage. (parents policy)

I got a quote for a '00 LS and a '00 GSR. the LS was 100 dollars MORE than the GSR per 6 months. The insurance rep was quite puzzled himself. I originally gave him some vin numbers of LS's and GSR's i've been lookin at. Then he himself went and got some other vin numbers and still...the same quotes came up.

Any ideas? Insurance company was Allstate, and it was for full coverage.
