JDM vs. Ricer
Almost every post has something to do with rice cars and JDM, what does each fully mean? I know the basics about each, but nothing more than that. Whats the big deal about each?

Rice= is mainly using ugly cheap ass parts that make the car look cheap and stupid. ie: neons, vinyl, useless crap.
JDM= Very similiar to rice. Parts that people buy for 5x their worth. Usually small tid bits that came stock on hondas in japan. ie: amber lighting (similiar to getting neons), jdm coin slots, jdm badges.
There is another form of cars that has been around for a while and is not mentioned often. It is a CLEAN car.
Clean= Cars that have good quality parts with owners who buy what pleases them.
I personally just pic and choose parts. Doesnt matter where they come from or who makes them. If its nice then its nice. Different strokes for different folks.

JDM can be nice in moderation, but many use it as an excuse to show off their money... For example, when I finally get some Recaros, I think I might go a little JDM and pick up one of those no-arm-rest ebrake covers off the JDM Type-R, and I wouldn't mind some of the JDM yellow foglights either (But those are insanely expensive for what they are...). But people go overboard and buy shit like the coin holders, heater control console, and my personal favorite, the JDM ITR taillights (Which basically look exactly the same as the 94-97 lights, but they're JDM and off the ITR y0!) and it's mostly a waste of money...
So while going JDM nutty is better than rice in my book, taking it beyond general aesthetics and using it as bling status ruins the feel of what would be an otherwise clean car...
