try changing the tranny fluid. it may help, even if just temporarily.

Not a bad idea. Actually I'm going to try this stuff [ http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread...rint&id=549469 ] since it's received more than a few rave reviews.

In my LS, 4th gear topped out at about 110 mph. :eh: So maybe a GS-R has slightly shorter gearing but how often do you hit 100?

I don't think it's a gearing issue. I think it's a synchro issue. Saturday I'm buying some GM Synchromesh and hopefully that will fix the problem.

Anybody know how much of the stuff I need?

I would not put anything in it thats not OEM. If the tranny oil is to thick you can do alot more damage to the tranny. Go to the Honda dealer and just get manual tranny fluid.

It may work......but as you can see that is for LSD trannys which I doubt you have. Only one way to tell get some and try it I guess. :dunno:

There are two different kinds of GM synchromesh:

The round bottle is for the tranny, the rectangular bottle is for differentials.

In case you didn't know the LSD is inside the tranny...So its not the same as "differentials" like that fluid is for (that fluid is for things like 4x4 trucks and AWD cars that have a differential thats linked to the tranny by a drive shaft).

According to this: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothrea...print&id=549469 many Integra owners (including GS-R/Type-R) as well as S2000 owners have had a lot of luck with GM Synchromesh clearing up their gear grinds.

I'd much rather spend $35-$50 seeing if this is a solution to my problem before I drop $350-$1500 for basically a tranny rebuild. Know what I mean?
