Default exhaust descisions

im going to buy an exhaust. ive decided on either the Apex'i N1, or the stock exhaust from the ITR. which one? ( in my case sound is more important to me than horsepower gains). and i would prefer something higher pitched

Most likely see more gains from the apexi n1. It is 2.36 and the itr is 2.25.

umm how about you watch any of the GT series with the RSX's and the Civic Si's. what do they sound like? not that shitty low american muscle car sound. id rather the "bumble bee sound" like they have than the low rumble, because last time i checked, my car didn't say SVT MUSTANG on the back.

dont make this into a import vs domestic issue. putting mods on your car is ment to be for preformance, but in your case if it is for sound.. the "bumble bee sound" is worse then the "american muscle car sound".. Think of the peoples ears?.. if you want preformance without "loud" noise.. get the Apexi WS, comptech, or just stick a silencer on there.

The reason they sound like that is because the muffler serves no other purpose than to direct the exhaust away from the header. It's little more than a pipe with super thin walls with no cat and no resonator...

And I'd LOVE for my car to sound like it actually had balls, but alas, I have an econobox... A 94 GS-R, but an econobox nonetheless...

Personally, I have a GReddy Evo exhaust. Super low idle note, and probably the quietist straight-through single pass muffler on the market. I get compliments on it's note from the bigblock baddies, and to me, that's the biggest reinforcement one can get IMO...

And if you had a SVT Cobra (not mustang, BTW), then I'd be impressed. That's a quite a decent car... but a GS-R? Meh... I have one, and while it's fun, it's not an impressive car...
