Default Comptech Icebox question

Hey everyone,

Who has the Comptech Icebox, and what does everyone think of it?
Also, Do you *really* need the Comptech SRI for the Icebox to work correctly?

Also, could you modify the factory airbox to do about the same thing?

I tried looking in the archive, but couldn't find anything..

Thanks

I've had the Comptech Icebox on my car for 6 months now and I really like it. I opted not to spend the extra money for the SRI, because I didn't feel it was worth the extra money. Instead, I got an ITR OEM intake arm and used that instead.

If you want to make your own Icebox check out
BSQ's website. He has all the instructions on building your own. Be aware though, that dyno's in the past have shown hp loss with a BSQ icebox, but there is debate about the issue.

What year and model is your Integra Timmy?
I have a 96 LS, with a custom K&N at the end of my OEM intake.

Where did you get it, how much? and where is the cheapest you think you can get that Comptech Icebox?

Thanks,
joe

I have one and i like it. Really easy to take out to filter for cleaning. I didn't get the short ram either. I didn't feel it was worth it. Overally ive been happy with it. I bought mine directly from comptech's web site. It was pretty much the same price everywhere i found but that was a while ago.

I have a 94 LS.

The cheapest I found the Icebox and filter for was at
Velocity Resources. I paid $220 shipped for both the Icebox and filter.

I have a 94 LS.

What I did was basically install comptech's filter (huge ) and took off my stock resinator. Sounds deep as anything, I like it a lot.

I was considering the icebox, but decided against it for some reason. I think I wanted a stock look, which the icebox has, but still, I decided against it. :dunno:

One good thing that I found out is that I will not need to get the Comptech filter or Short Ram Intake (SRI) in order to use this properly. =) I already have a K&N filter anyhow.
