There are some folks that did some kind of an antenna conversion of some sorts. I think from an S2000 or something. If you do a search, I'm sure that you'll find it...

same exact thing happened to mine, my antenna doesnt go up at all. i have to pull it up myself to get good reception. i say you just by a new short black antenna, they're only around $10. thats what im looking to do. but if you come up with any other ideas, i want to hear them.

If you can hear the antenna motor coming on and off then order a new antenna and install it yourself which is pretty easy. If that is the case then the little grooved plastic peice which the motor grabs to pull and push it up and down has broken. If you can't hear the motor then it could not be getting power or the motor could be shot. I agree with them in saying you should just get a S2000 style antenna. They are much better looking IMO and are just as much as a OEM replacemnet.

If you are going to want to listen to the radio all the time, then i say replace the stock antena. The S2000 antena isnt powerful at all and you would'nt be able to get reseption as well as you want it to be.

Some websites I have seen selling the S2000 copy antenna come with a signal amplifier but I agree with the above post.

Not sure if this helps at all, but my antenna was ´´broken´´ in that the antenna never went down. Got perfect reception, the motor worked, but the antenna wouldn´t go down. I got a new Hirschmann power antenna on ebay for 42 dollars shipped to my door, came with instructions and free tech support. Install was very easy work, if not tedious, and the new unit runs smooth as silk.

I´d go with the OEM style Hirshmann unit. Very good item, and runs almost silent, unlike my stock unit.

i replaced my antenna w/ one of those small black ones..i got it from advanced for only like $7 and just took the whole antenna motor out. luckily the cord to connect it was detached from the motor so it connected right up instead of running it all the way to the stereo..
