Default BASIC TUNE UP on a teg....What else ?

Ok guys im getting ready to give my car a major tuneup this weekend......distributor/cap/rotor/coil/module has all been changed, and I am going to change the air filter, gas filter and sparkplugs. Is there anything else I should do/check that is relatively simple (that affects performance) while I am under the hood ?

Run a compression test, use white lithium on all of your pulleys, check tire pressure, bleed the brakes if it hasn't been done regularly (use synthetic brake fluid), change your brake and clutch fluid, flush the radiator, change your tranny fluid and when you are done with everything wash the engine with simple green a rag and a plastic brush (watch those spark plug wells). I do this once a year on all of my cars and my teggy now has 204,000 on it, one of my accords went 290,000 before i sold it, another went 179,000 before smashing, and my civic has 150,000 on it, i have yet to kill a honda engine.

Get a helms manual  No need to change your spark plug wires unless they actually looks damaged. OEM wires are great...I dont know why everyone is in such a big hurry to change em, guess cuz they look cool. While you're messing with everything you might want to get a timing gun and advance your timing as well. Get some free power.

Clean the throttle body and check the ECU for any codes.

I like to change out the tranny fluid with synthetic every 60k or so, Redline MT90 is good stuff.

Redline MT90 is too thick compared to what Honda reccomends for their transmissions. I'd stick with Redline MTL.

For how to bleed the brakes, here ya go: http://webpages.charter.net/mrfatboo...leedbrakes.jpg
