Need some help estimating my swap budget.
I have a 91 GS that threw a rod threw the oil pan a couple of weeks ago and I have been trying to decide what to do with it ever since. I think I am going to keep the car and swap in a b16a1. I have been getting prices from all over the place, but a local shop quoted me $1800 shipped for the comeplete swap, which when you throw in shipping seems to be as good, or better a price as any of the other places I have checked.
They also said they usually charge about $1000 for the swap, that seemed a little high to me since this looks like a really straight forward swap. Of course this puts the total at $2800 for parts and labor. The car also needs a whole new exaust, of course a CAI, and there have been some portions of the wiring harness bypassed by the previous owner concerning the lights, cooling fans, and radio, that I need to get unwired from the fuse box and reconnected to the wiring harness.
Having said all that, I was thinking of offering the shop a flat $3000-3300, to do the swap, the exhaust, CAI, and fix the wiring harness, and my figuring was something like; comeplete swap $1800, CAI $200, exhaust $500, and labor for all $500-800.
Everyone I know that has had work done at this shop says, they are really on the ball, so I wouldnt think my list would require anything they havent done several times before. I guess what I need to know is if my estimate of pricing seems reasonable, or am I out of line?
I have done lots of research on this entire project, but would still love to here any advice that is out there, also wondering does Magnaflor make an exhaust for this car, I have one on my Dub and I love it?
Thanks!!

I dont know that it seems to good to be true, it just seems to be really competitive. www.hmotorsonline.com and nippon-motors are also in the same ballpark.
Anyone think my estimates are reasonable or unreasonable?

Christ, I just bought one for 200 and it came with the car.
Any used ones near you?
Can you do the work yourself(or with free help), it would save a lot of wasted cash for more stuff!
