Default Tein Springs too low?

Does anyone have experience with Tein S-Tech lowering springs? I have 215/40/17 tires on a 00 GSR. These springs give a 2.6"F/1.75"R drop. I measured my wheelwell gap, and it would be REALLY close. These springs are supposed to be good, do you think they'd fit? I plan to use them with Koni Reds.

Thanks

With your 17's they'll rub for sure. Just to let you know the spring rates are real soft on those S-techs (aka stylish techs), something like 250lbs front, 137lbs rear, which is pretty close to stock. Get a set of H&R Sports, they'll suit your needs best. The Race springs will drop u too low.

with that much of a drop, the only way you'd maintain stock ride quality is if you dont alter the strut/shock rod stroke. you'll be hitting the bumpstops too frequently even if the rates are the close to stock.

Thanks guys!

I was looking to drop the car around 2" and get better handling characteristics without being TOO stiff. Besides Tein, I was also considering HR sofsports, Eibach pro, or Comptech. The comptech are only 5% stiffer than stock, so probably the Eibach or HR. I also plan to use a skunk2 camber kit and koni reds so this is done right the first time. No bouncing around or negative camber on the stock equipment
I appreciate your input on this

any drop will make you rub on those 215 tires. i have 215's on my car with the H&R race springs and I rub ALL the time. Once these tires are used im gonna get 205s and they shouldnt rub at all.

You don't want zero camber, handling will suck. Dial it in to around -1.5 or so.

I'm running H&R Sport on Koni Yellows and it dropped my car 3", yes 3", while the spring rate is only 276 lb/in... the ride SUCKS on bad roads. :eh:

very true...when i first got the camber kit installed the guy set it at 0 degrees. i let it slide for a couple weeks, but had him change it at first opportunity. at the very least, have the fronts with more camber than the rear, to reduce any understeer.
