Default bottoming out...

in the summer i put on tokico blues and some really "cheap" coilovers. sometimes when i hit a dip in the road fast, my car bottoms out (and by bottoms out i dont mean scraping the frame i mean i hear a thump from the shock towers.) is this normal with a lowered suspension?

I've heard of it happening on stock shocks but I've never heard of it happening on aftermarket shocks, esp tokico's. Sure it's not your tire hitting the inside of the fender?

Your car is too low. get stiffer springs and stiffer shocks.

Civic-GSR, why does it look like you're lowered way more than 2 inches in your sig pic?

I know exactly what your talking about. I put cheap oem struts with intrax springs on mine (1.75 in drop) when I hit a large dip or pothole I get the same feeling....cd player even skips sometimes.

Are you running any sort of bump stops?

The springs may not necessarily be soft (more than likely they're pretty stiff) but you need a shock with more aggressive damping rates to properly control the motion of the springs.

Also I would ditch the crap coilovers.
