Default shopping list

I'm putting together my shopping list for a B20Z swap. My car is a 92 vx.

Here's what I've got so far...

Longblock (hopefully complete, for now we'll just assume so)
b-series tranny
axles and int shaft
shift linkage
flywheel and clutch (not many 5-speed CRVs)
T-belt and water pump
LS ECU
LS intake manifold and TB
B-series exhaust manifold

Thats what I've come up with so far... is there anything else I'm missing? What kind of motor mounts do I need? What will I need to do about wiring it up--adding wires or getting a LS wiring harness etc...? Do I need to be concerned that my car is OBD1, and the B20Z is OBD2? Please help me out with these, and any other concerns you come up with so I can finish my shopping list.

Thanks

Lots of gaskets, Some RTV silicone, upper and lower rad. hoses, oh and make sure you have a starter.

i know I'll need gaskets for the intake and exhaust manifold. But what else? What radiator hoses will I need?--I wasn't aware mine wouldn't work.

Still looking for answers on engine mount and wiring questions...

Should I get an OBD1 or OBD2 ecu?

Default What's up?

Your also going to need B-series mounts. Specifically both B-series lower front mounts (the A/C mount and the one that bolts to the tranny), you need the rear T-bracket and the upper engine mount (probably either an LS or B16A one, don't know for sure, LS pobably). You can reuse your upper tranny or use the B-series, same mount.

I'd also probably grab a DX wiring harness or pull your engine's off and convert it to a 4-wire O2 sensor. I'd grab a DX one so you can work on it without having to put your car down (probably find one cheap if you look).

Aside from that, new timing belt, water pump, new belts for alternator/AC/PS and radiator lines. You can't use the Civic one's either. The B-series openings are slightly larger. You'll also have to use standard worm clamps on the radiaitor to tighen them down (the bigger B-series hoses are a little larger than the Civic's radiator which is designed for D-series hoses). Ghetto but it works. Some people wrap the radiator neck with eletrical tape to fatten it up too. Go back and tighten them every time you change your oil too. Seeya.

Thanks for the reply. I don't have p/s, and will be ditching my a/c before the swap, so that takes care of those belts. I was planing on doing water pump and T-belt. Gotcha on the radiator hoses.

Will making that 4-wire o2 sensor conversion be the only wiring modification i need? How is it done and what OBD ECU will I need--or does it matter?

Thanks again.

Replace just the alternator belt then. A whole hell of a lot easier with the engine out. I think the 4-wire is the only real difference on the VX's. You'll also VTEC wires, but those can just be ignored.

You'll need an OBD I ECU. The LS ECU is probably the one you want, but I've read people have tried using the DX ECU and it works too, runs a little leaner but not enough to risk detonation. You'll also need an OBD I distrubtor and injectors. I don't think your stockers will work. Seeya.
