1) thursday i come home with a friend and i see soem kind of liquid on my car, someone poured it on my car
2) i look at it and think it's just soda, so i walk away thinking that it would rain in the next few days and wash it of, or if that doesnt work out, i'll wash it on the weekend
3) gardeners tell me on saturday that there is oil leaking from my exhaust, but i didn't see it leaking on thursday
4) dad calls mechanic and explains scenario, and comes up with the conclusion that engine is done
so here i am thinking my options, of an engine swap or whatever options i have
so this weekend, i'm going to take my car to my mechanic and check it out
i have pictures, i'll get them up ASAP

If you do everything right (girdle, block guard, etc.), it's reportedly a very stable engine with horsepower numbers that, in some cases, even surpass an itr at the crank. If you're not looking to have sick power gains and just need a new engine, I'd look at a complete b20z from Japan. It bolts directly into your car - electronics and all (as long as same obd version). In fact - someone please correct me if I'm wrong - you may be able to slap in a b20b shortblock and still use your b18b head. This would just give you bigger displacement. Need a b20 head gasket. But again.. try changing your head gasket if you, in fact, have oil in your exhaust. Also.. maybe take it to a shop. A gardener is a gardener and a certified mechanic is a certified mechanic.
i'm almost positive that the b20 crank is the same size as the LS crank and that the only difference is piston size. LS 81mm B20 84mm.

if your engine is done, then you have many options. First, I just got a b18c from jdmsource in canada for 1750 shipped to my door. If that is too much, then go with a b20b from password jdm. They have them on sale for 549.99 + shipping. Both engines will bolt up to yours or any other b-series transmission. If you go with the b18c, then it will probrably kick out of v-tec when shifting due to the long ls gears. Other than that , good luck and keep us informed.
