Default AEM Fuel Rail and Injectors

I've got an AEM fuel rail for my 98 GS-R right now, with the stock injectors. I've been scouring eBay for a set of bigger ones, but I'm not terribly sure what injectors will fit, and which ones won't. I'm not particular whether they're peak and hold or saturated type... as I'll be replacing the ECM at the same time for the AEM computer. Do all fuel injectors pretty much fit all fuel rails (with the exception of side drafts), or are there vast differences in size?
Thanks in advance.

Get some DSM 450s, they fit the stock rail and intake manifold fine, so I assume they would fit the AEM rail. You should be bale to get them for $50(per set) or so since a lot of DSM guys have no use for them after they upgrade injectors.

I found a set of oversized Bosch 72lbs/hr. injectors (8) for 200 bucks, brand new. The bid is all over, so I've got no joy, but I'd like to know in the future. I've already got the rail and an edelbrock intake, so finding injectors that will fit are a priority. Thanks for the heads up on the DSM's.

I have a question...

I have a 95 Mustang along with my Honda toys.. and usueally the injectors in the mustang world (who are mostly bosch) are LOW IMPEDANCE after about 36/lb hr ... are honda injectors considered low impediance?????

Most newer model Hondas use saturated 8-10 ohm impedence injectors. Some Hondas, like pre-1992 CRX's and Accords used 2 ohm peak and hold injectors. If you want to use peak and hold injectors on a Honda whose stock injectors are saturated, you can either wire in 7-8 ohm resistors into the injector harnesses, or buy a resistor pack(basically 7-8 ohm resistors encased in insulating ceramic inside a grey metal box) from a peak and hold Honda and wire it into your injector harness.

Wow thanks for the great info.

Question: you said pre 92 Accords/Civics use 2ohms .. what can someone do to use 8ohm injectors in say a 1991 Accord? Swap ECU's? Or if i'm reading you right remove a resister pack inline from the injector +12V power?

One last question maybe someone will know: Anyone know what lb/hr injectors came on the F22A1 and H22A's stock? Im sure they're rated in cc's but whatever data someone might have would be nice.

I'm only so interested because of an FI project I'm spec'ing out... and using non hocus-pocus bosch injectors would be optimal to me.

If you have a peak and hold Honda and want to use saturated injectors, you would need to remove the resistor pack.

VEHICLE Injector Types Flow Rate
1988-91 Civic si/crx si Peak and hold 240cc
1992-95 Civic si/ex Saturated 240cc
1996-00 Civic Saturated 240cc
1990-91 Integra Peak and hold 240cc
1992-00 Integra ls/gsr/type R Saturated 240cc
1992-96 Prelude non-vtec Peak and hold 240cc
1992-96 Prelude VTEC Peak and hold 345cc
1997-up Prelude VTEC Saturated 280cc
1991-up Sentra se-r/200sx se-r Saturated 265cc
1991-up MR2 Turbo Peak and hold 440cc
1988-91 Supra Turbo Peak and hold 550cc
1993-up Supra non -Turbo Saturated 315cc
1993-up Supra Twin Turbo Peak and hold 550cc
2000-up Celica GT-S Saturated 310cc
1990-up Miata 1.6 liter Saturated 215cc
1993-up Miata 1.8 liter Saturated 240cc
1993-up RX-7 Twin Turbo Saturated 550cc/850cc
1990-96 300zx Twin Turbo Saturated 370cc
1991-up 3000GT VR-4 Peak and hold 350cc
1989-up Eclipse Turbo Peak and hold 450cc

Oh yah, you'll need to wire in the appropriate injector clips if you're switching types, as well. So, if your stock injectors are saturated,a nd you're switching to peak and hold, you'll need to wire in peak and hold injector clips.
