Default clutch went out or clutch cable broken?

i got this 1986 prelude stick. i was driving yesterda. suddently when i step on the clutch, i heard there's popping noise from the pedal. it is like something pop out or broke. then i can't get to any gear. and the clutch pedal felt loose and can't start the car when i put on first gear and step on the clutch? i suggest maybe the cable broken. anyone knows how to find out?

It's probably the clutch cable bracket. This happened to my friend's 86 CRX Si, and his car wouldn't shift at all. What you have to do is get under the dash, find that bracket (its on the firewall), remove it and have it re-welded.

It's a little bracket that's not even in the service manual. It's L-shaped and has a nut on the end of it, where the clutch cable support sits. Hard to explain, I'll try and get pictures. Trace the clutch cable inside the car from teh firewall, you'll find it.
