Default building an ls/vtec

i'm building a b18 ls/vtec... would these parts be a good set up for a turbo application? and are the prices good, decent, or not good?

Personally i would just start with a gsr longblock. It would be a lot simpler from the beginning. But if you want ls/vtec here is what i would change on the list.

Get high comp pistons. Yes lower comp means less detonation but it also means less power. Some 9.5:1's will lower the comp enough to where it is safe and still make good power. If you still want it lower throw in a thicker headgasket.

The head: I would get a b18c1 head because you are going to be building it so start with something cheaper. Have it machined ported since it will do a better, more consistent job. Personally i would use stock cams, they will be more than good enough for 500+whp. Upgrade the valve train though so you can rev higher because you will most likely use a big turbo like an sc60-1. It needs time to spool and make power.

Drivetrain: Stock flywheel = good. Get a 6 puck clutch, is the centerforce 6 puck? Get a lsd, a quaife if you have the money or a honda one if you dont. The honda one will hold up pretty well.

Anymore specific questions, just ask.

well, here's what i'm doing... the car is a crx. i'm about to buy a b18 full swap, still have to go check it out to make sure it runs etc. my goals are 12's in the quarter shifting normally, and 200 at the crank(hopefully more), while still being a daily driver(hence the easy shifting). i have the ability to get cheaper parts if i go through comp cams. this was something a guy there typed up for me when i said ls/vtec turboed. now... excluding the cost of the full b18 swap, could i accomplish this with only 4000 minus the cost of the turbo and everything with it?

If 200whp is your goal then i suggest just a stock b18b and a turbo kit. My b18a1 with a rev hard kit made 230 on 8psi. It was very reliable, i daily drove it on 7psi. Just get hondat and some bigger injectors and you should be good to go.

which parts go first on your daily driver (as said above) set up?

If you get a kit it will come with an fmu setup which will allow you to run the kit fine. I upgraded to a standalone (hondata) and bigger injectors for more fine tuning. Hondata gets the most out of the setup.
